Welcome to City of Post Falls Building Division.  We hope this site will clarify your search for information.

Our mission is to help you build and promote a safe city through the services of a dedicated staff.  The Building Division provides qualified personnel to enforce various codes and ordinances through plan review, issuance of permits, inspections of both new construction and existing residential and commercial premises.

This division also strives to identify ways to increase effectiveness of service to citizens.  We strive to provide quality public services in partnership with the citizens, builders and designers.

The City of Post Falls has an online portal where you can fill out and submit applications for the Building, Planning and Engineering Departments. Customers are able to apply, upload plans, pay fees online, schedule inspections and view inspection results.

To utilize the Community Development Portal, you will need to create an account.  Each account is specific to the email address it is created with. A company is not limited to number of accounts they can have, but we do suggest that one account is created per company/department.  By creating only one generic account with a generic email (example permits@postfalls.gov) anyone with access to that email and password will have the availability to access all the permits that were applied for under that account. Below is a direct link to the Community Development Portal and a helpful guide on how to get started.

Callers will be asked to leave their permit number, job address, inspection type and the date the inspection is desired.  Please remember that if all information is not left, an inspection cannot be scheduled.  Also note that the Building Division does not schedule am or pm inspections so your job will need to be ready the morning of the inspection.  However, if you are pouring concrete, please leave your pour time as the inspectors will try to work with that time frame.  Inspection requests left after midnight the night before will not be able to be scheduled for the following day.
