Administration

Administration

The City Administrator’s Department is responsible for administrative direction for all departments of the City, providing budgetary and policy advice to the Mayor and City Council, and implementing City Council goals, budgets,  and policies. The Administrative Department will implement City Council policy direction, direct cost-effective and customer service oriented city services, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements, monitor activities to assure timely completion.

The Community Development Department consists of Building, Engineering and Planning divisions.

Finance

Finance & Support Services

The Finance Department incorporates all accounting services for the City. The department prepares the Annual Budget, a financial report for review by City auditors. Other departmental functions include payroll/responsible for the preparation of 26 payrolls, benefits and taxes of City employees, billing and collections for local improvement districts, utility customers, and miscellaneous services, accounts payables, accurate and timely processing and payment of invoices, and provides a full-service accounting function for the City.

The Human Resources Department provides services with respect to employment, employee relations, policy and systems development, compensation and benefits administration, safety, and organizational development training issues.  Assures the City complies with its policies and the law.  The service provided is intended to attract and retain talented employees, and promote high productivity to ensure excellent service to the community with appropriate reward for effort of employees.

Legal Services

Legal Services

The Legal Services Department provides legal representation to the mayor, city council and city staff concerning all legal matters affecting the City.  The Legal Services Department also prosecutes misdemeanor criminal cases occurring within the City as well as those occurring in Rathdrum.  The goal of the Legal Services Department is to provide these services in an effective and efficient manner.

Parks & Recreation

Parks & Recreation

The Parks & Recreation Department operates a broad-based system that offers a wide array of activities and events that encourage and promote positive and healthy lifestyles for all ages and abilities. Recreation services include athletic/fitness, youth, general recreation programs, and outdoor-related programming. The Department also provides maintenance and oversight to several city-owned facilities and city parks.

The Public Works divisions are Streets, Fleet Services and Facility Maintenance, Water, Water Reclamation, and Surface Water.

The Post Falls Police Department is committed to providing a safe, secure environment for the community and our employees. We exist to serve the citizens of Post Falls and visitors to our community with respect, fairness, and compassion. The Department is dedicated to the prevention of crime, the protection of life and property, the maintenance of law and order, the enforcement of laws and ordinances, and upholding the constitutional rights of all those within our jurisdiction.
